Yeah there was about 20 shots on Sunday morning as we had just passed the first smaller ridge before going right. Any ideas? we thought rabbits or rats on the dumpsite but it was too late for that in the am...or just tickling up a heard of goats.

Was a bit worried I'd get back to the carpark with the car looking like Swiss cheese - but Duncan said Nah - we hadn't heard a car doing Doughnuts or some type shenanigins - but heart in mouth when taking the last corner before the carpark I can tell you.

Next time your up there on the top ridge track before the tower have a look where I said where you see a sky blue ribbon marker. Well worth a look down that spur and have a wee sit if the winds right - Just saying!!

Sorry missed the Q in your earlier.

No the 300 AAC Blackout is a Ruger American Ranch as far as flavour goes, And I have a MAE Supressor on it

http://www.ruger.com/products/americanR ... /6968.html

I've popped a Leupold vx2 3-9 CDS on top of it on the rail and its perfect for the kind of bush work e get in NZ - I've been playing with subsonics too using the LeHigh 196gr maximum expansion round but being he roar I'm currently dialled into using the 125gr Nosler Hunting Boat Tails. Great little budget set up and I rate it highly.

Sweet it looks like @brads has this in hand with your info Gibo.

Yeah really good unit in the CDS - I got the fine duplex reticle which is awesome in the bush and low light. Couldn't see the reasoning to get a VX-3 in the same - Same features bigger price tag seem to remember getting it as part of a bundle originally for about $350 on the 7RM which was awesome but have repatriated this to the 300 BLK as seems made for it in the bush on 3x - but 2-7 would possibly be even better in target aquisition thru the scope but I had it on hand.

Nice target style click turret, and haven't finalised the load yet to get a CDS turret with the free coupon but looks like it might either be 125 nosler or 11 barnes Tac-tx round just deciding...

Looks like price may have jumped a bit in the 2 years+ since I bought but here's the latest site.
