Re reading this thread reminds me that I witnessed young Nibblet (from the old pub) head shoot a Peacock at over 600 yards with a 308. I reckoned it was a fluke but there was no doubt he was aiming for the bird at the time.

On my way down to deal to them
Young Michael, Fannys boy is on his way over and will spend a night here with us.

Neighbour pulled his net this morning right in front of my place and he had a limit of impressive snapper and here's me with my net at the net doctors getting restrung. Damn

Still got a couple of fish to eat for lunch then I will have to get busy with the surfcaster.

I called to see some friends in Whitianga the other day. One of them was 'Pengy' and stopped for a surf cast on the way home and caught a couple of meals.

I am waiting for the call that the whitebait is going off 'Rushy' It will be any day soon now.
