Well I dont think I will be putting a net in the estuary for at least a month. Flood has brought all of forestrys charms to the estuary....its a bloody slash pile out there.

That's a pity 'Cam'. The water looks good around here for fish but we are still trying to get the place up to scratch.

We'll I have missed the Autumn influx of flounder into the estuary due to being away for work but conned a mate into having a dragnet Friday night which resulted in a feed just and took the kids for a troll Sat where they quickly caught our tea.

Smoked up feed of kahawai was bloody good. I should do it more often.

Good sized Kahawai Cam. I think their are some good ones out in the Gulf here. There are some good workups at times.

My sister in law came back from my favourite surf casting spot with about 10 good trevally yesterday. I introduced her to the spot a year ago. I must say I suffered a deep stab of remorse when she casually showed off her fish.
For a moment I felt like saying but that is my spot and these are my fish.

No different I suppose when you get up a couple of hours before daylight and climb on up to a favourite hunting spot and there sitting on your best shooting rock is the little bastard you felt sorry for and took up there last week to shoot his first deer. You of all people must know what this feels like 'Cam'

I think it is worse when you get older as you have had a lifetime of showing people your favourite spots.

Yes but console yourself in that you can only kill a fish once or deer once so the fish you caught are not there anymore.

Not consoled at all. I recognised my Sister in Laws fish and they are all close relations to the ones I caught.

I was offered a fish too. Like a student saying to his maths teacher 'Do you want a hand with the hard sums'
