Then it is truly about time then.

Remember you are most welcome here if you come over this side. Not a lot of guests around at the moment so we are pretty quiet.

Gidday '308' how are you. I have been away for a week, so havnt caught a fish for awhile but they say it has slowed down since all the fresh water hit the Firth.

You don't have to come all the way up to Coromandel Town for a fish. Waikawau and Kerata are the two ramps we use the most and where the majority of our fish come from.

Been doing well Scribe, That is exactly where I would be launching scribe if I were to head over to Thames i can only use concrete ramps as I only have a VW golf station wagon these days, only way I would come all the way to Coromandel town is if you were going to put the billy on :P

I am in the process of planning a trip from kawakawa bay over to ponui island for a fish at scully reef and possibly around Rotoroa island to fish near some of my old landbased spots that I used to frequent when I did my stint on Rotoroa 23 years ago.

My boat is a 3.95 meter fish city branded boat with a 30hp mercury tiller steer it is nice and stable even in some of the rough stuff I have wound up in on the inside of kawhia harbour, she's all set up with fish finder and chart plotter as well as VHF radio and required safety gear

A nice snapper my other half caught while we were out on our first trip on kawhia harbour and is her first one over 30cm

Still a lot of fish around. Good eating size but not as big on the whole as a couple of weeks ago. The Kahawai are destined for the smoker. A cool Easterly wind of about fifteen knots got up in the afternoon. But we were still pleasantly sheltered from it being an Easterly and all.

Looking forward to Queens Birthday weekend as well.

Take my beehives back to Kaimarama
Go for a fish round the bay or Mercs
And hopefully get a couple of these 9 pigs hanging round like they own the joint..
Picture a bit scratchy sorry

Nothing like a pig to move in an own some place 'happy' Unless they are doing too much damage selective culling will keep you in nice pork for years.
