Took the boat out today for the first time. It went well in the bloody rough conditions and we managed to stop and catch seven snapper. It was uncomfortable so we headed home ahead of a thunderstorm that produced some big hailstones.
It was a spring low tide when we set off through the passage still on the plane. The way I held the throttle lever in my big hands meant my thumb engaged the down tilt for the engine as we crossed the bar and I am sad to say that the prop hit the sand bar and now looks a bit on the rough side. I will have to give it a file and a polish one day. Never mind worse things have happened before and a working boat will always show the work its done.
