.22 Hornet

Postby Happy » Mon Sep 19, 2016 3:39 pm

Got hold of this little baby fairly cheaply.

Test fired a few weekends ago and it was hitting a Waratah quite a way away so decided its a keeper.

Bit rusty and marked up here and there but its a really nice little gun.

Shortened to 19 " from 24". DPT Muzzle suppressor makes it back to factory length and its
nearly perfectly balanced. Had a VX3 Laying around so got some Loopy 30 mm rings and we re away.

A little bit different, a little bit dated and it still feeds my .22 fetish !!
I reckon it ll be a good little go to for the odd pest here and there :D 8-)

Hi Scribe . It's CZ 457. Got some 35 VMax coming for it 3100 at muzzle
A good in between caliber between .22 magnum which has never impressed and yet not as noisy as .223 etc
So far on my .22 journey the 22-250 wins all with .204 a close second and .223 a cheap cal for putting lots of ammo through. :D

I used to have a 22K Hornet, loved it. Shot half a dozen deer with it. it's main use was to be for Dogs in amongst stock. Swapped it for a brand new 308 T3.

I have a Maori mate that used to hunt the Waioeka area many years ago and he had a hornet that was built on a 303 action. He had some fantastic heads taken from the region and all taken with the wee hornet.

He changed cals after a while and thought that he was over gunned using a 222 :D

I had a Brno Fox with the set triggers that I used to shooting goats for many years and eventually swapped it for 223 Bruno
