Pulsar night vision binoculars

Postby Greenhill » Mon Sep 07, 2015 7:07 pm

A mate has a set of these that he's going to loan me to have a play with . I've never used this sort of thing before so it will be interesting . There the 2.7x50 model . Anybody else ever used this gear before ?

I'm not into shooting at night but am eager to see what's about in a couple of spots I hunt . Any tips VC ? Darker nights better no cloud cover etc ?
I know of a couple guys down Taupo who use the thermal gear . Sounds impressive but still kind of cheating I reckon .

Starlight is good. Very black nights need ir illumination.
Depending on the model it could be anywhere from very unimpressive to bloody amazing.
Thermal is the go tho. You can look at a face of low scrub and see animals you will never see with binos.
They have there place but big dollars for decent gear and you really need access to the kind of country they execel in.
