223 Chassis gun start to re-sight in

Postby Happy » Mon Aug 17, 2015 8:14 pm

Change of scope as found 10 x magnification from very old scope just not enough for current Blue Pheasant disposal at 200 Mtrs minimum as every man and his dog has scared them so they run when you are 200 away! Then they return and rip the silage covers big time

Damn it's an ugly bitsa really looking at that pic ! Ha ha

Scored a very well nice Vortex from the other pub . 50 Mtrs start up

100 finish before it got too windy

Last before I bailed out of the wind

Needs a bit more fine tuning.
Missed a couple of really easy shots on the way off the farm just not quite there yet
Look forward to 30calterry fine tuning it maybe this weekend ?

The Boys did have the magazine on top 'Packhorse'. That was to blot out your vision of the Boys projectile bouncing harmlessly off the huge fucking tank you were shooting at.

A very good friend of my fathers carried one right through Greece. He said it was of more danger to the shooter than the enemy.
The only satisfaction it gave him was when a German scout motorbike and sidecar came barrelling up the road he was guarding. At fairly close range he let strip at the Motorbike and he reckoned the rider foot went down and he spun that bike around on a sixpence and went barrelling back the way he had come. A display of superlative bike riding skills old Ron reckoned he had never seen the like of before or since.

While passing over a bridge under retreat just north of Athens the jolly old Boyes slipped from Ron's hands and plunged into the river never to be seen again. I was not greatly missed he said.

From what I understand it was not one of the English success stories involving firearms.

From memory it was obselete before the BEF went to France for the 'phoney war' but it was all they had. I think It could cope with the mk 1 and mk 2 ??panzer but they weren't at the spearhead of the blitzkrieg by then. Plus being dive bombed by Stukas wouldn't have helped much either.

Well after a good Sunday Arvo that's now finished. Was having a little problem till I relieved the suppressor bush slightly.
Now it drops down the barrel past where it normally sits by around 3-4 mm
100 Mtrs 6 shots

10 Clicks up for 200 mtrs and four shots later when the shooter sorted him self out ha ha sun in face problems

Hit the 40 x 60 mm gong at 200 10 times . Went back to 100 readjust and no problem.
The gun makes the 100 mtr gongs boring now. Its had 3 or 4 different scopes on it and other changes along the way
Vortex Scope adjusts and returns nicely good bit of kit now. ( I know its still fugly as . Dead shit doesn't seem to mind though )
