Suggestions for a .22

Postby Willie » Wed May 13, 2015 6:26 pm

I am looking at picking up a .22 and really just want it for bunny busting at work mates place in the country.
Thing is I don't want to spend big i.e. about $500.00 for the lot and wondering should I go semi or bolt, are the Ruger .22's any good, Marlin XT with suppressor???? Norinco????

What are the one's to really stay away from?
Lots of q's from me so keen to hear some answers.

Thanks everyone.

Willie take the time to look into 17HMR as well before you commit. I don't have one but really wish I did.

For around the five hundy mark there's a bit of choice. I use a norinco Jw 15 a Winchester lever 22 n a marlin 795 semi auto. They've all got there quirks n I like shooting them all. ..... I know ....it's no help....:-)

My pick would be a Marlin bolt or semi, whatever takes your fancy. Plenty second hand too. Mudgripz will be selling a couple of pearlers shortly.

The Norinco JW15 is also really good. Got one for the kids to use and it shoots under 1/2" groups at 50m.

Accuracy at range from what I can determine.
