I have had similar injuries and at 6'3'' I found that if I carry my gun upside down when it's dense bush, it's not such an issue

Generally folks don't recommend cutting .270 too short. 22 inches seems to be common best length
Buy a .308 you can go as far as 14 inch for bush work unbeatable. You will need to consider
a suppressor as well. Muzzle blast becomes a bit louder. I currently walk about with a 3.8 kg .308 Tikka with 13.5 inch barrel
Light as and good to shoot 200 to 300 mtrs no problems.

Cheers

Hi mate, cheers for the help, I think that's the plan, I looked into it an that's what other people said as well. The tikka seems to be the go a. Thanks for the feedback awesome.

My BAR is 19.5", use it as a bush gun. For the few rounds fired doesn't bother me but then I'm deaf as fuck.
