Hi All,

For some years now and throughout our Toby’s illness, and subsequent passing. I’ve been plotting among other things on how to build a Hunting equivalent retreat based on what we do in our very successful Reel Recovery, Fishing retreats.

Now Thanks to Lindsay and Hamish, and in conjunction with Muddy Waters Hunting NZ we now have planning and fundraising underway for an initial 6-person retreat to a 1600 hectare private hunting block, in the area north of Wanganui planned for 2018.

I can’t thank these guys enough for getting on board and providing us a safe venue and the ability to take 6 guys who are either battling or survivors of Cancer into an retreat environment Where the activities being hunting based.

Having hunted here before, its well set up and have seen literally hundreds of Fallow Deer here over the course of a weekend (even shot a few!! Eh @Happy).

So... If you are in or around at the Sika Show this weekend.

Stop by.... find out more...or just have a yarn with us and support this most worthy cause.
(This year Reel Recovery NZ is the Sika Shows’ own charity of Choice! - and we are very humbled to have been selected for this)

As a current Reel Recovery board member, I’m also very proud that we’ve been able to do this as part of NZ organisation and provide a vital and unique service to guy’s battling Cancer here in NZ -To provide a weekend away from the stresses and strains of their everyday battle.

Just to front foot a question that I’m always asked… and perhaps give you a bit of added insight of how we work

As an entirely Voluntary organisation all our fundraising and revenues go into putting on the retreats for the guys, so every dollar donated, or raffle ticket sold - goes to them!

All the guys need to pay for is getting to our retreat and getting home.
We feed, water, guide and care for them whilst they are with us over the weekend retreat.

So, Pop in and see us – I could say look for the bearded buggers (as I think most of us currently are) in the green shirts for a chat or perhaps lend us a word of support.

Talk soon!

Hi Paul, I have always admired what you are doing. I have often wondered how I could become involved but I have to admit that there is no time left in the day to do much.

We are going into a very busy season this year with the BNB and the rest of my time seems to be taken up with trying to get 1080 out of forests and give nature some breathing space while there are some species left that we can still save.

I wont make it to the Sika show this year. I would have liked to have called in at your stand.

Good luck and happy hunting Paul.

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to thank all those who stopped by the stand at the Sika Show and allowed us to bend their ear, and cadge a few dollars from you all for the Raffle we were running along with some wonderful individual donations.

The upshot is we were able to relieve you all of a couple of grand towards the costs of our next Hunting and Fishing retreats for 2018.

For those of you who missed out on my pitch take a wander over to Reel Recovery
and leave us a donation there, if you want you can have a raffle ticket too sent to you (image or i.r.l) for our upcoming draw at the beginning of December!

First prize is a guided day with Brian from Brian's fishing Guides (Value $650.00)
second a Neil Hirtzel handbuilt Salt water fly rod (Value $500)
third (and the one most guys wanted to win at the Show ) A spectacular piece of glass art worth ($450)

We'd also Like to call out to Wayne at G&W imports and home of the UFO cooker
And Steve McGuire from SouthFort labs for providing us a cooker and Carbon Composite Stock for a T3.

Both of these will be part of future fundraising we do going forward!!

Thanks to you all !!!
