Yes you are right in this but so am I as Somali and parts of Ethiopia had become Dervish states before the British sent their huge expedition up the mighty Nile eventually concluding the British Ethiopian war.

The whole country was smoking Dak and whirling around having a great time until the dear old British turned up and showed them the error in their ways.

Using the three row box formation no doubt. It worked so well

Yes rushy. Major General China Gordon got topped during the fall of Khartoum.

Lord Kitchener and his expedition arrive two days to late the city had fallen. But in a series of great battles the Dervishes battered themselves into extinction against the three row box formations of the British Army.

The knife forth in from the left with the shiny curved blade, designed as a skinner, is a 'Hubertus-Ranger Solinger Handarbeit' on the other side of the blade is 'Hubertus Solingen Rostfrei'.

Its a well made German Knife by the look of it. I can find any information at all on it. I don't read German unfortunately.
Has anyone come across this make before?.

I havnt found much I can understand in the word Solinger so far GA.

However Solingen is a City south of the Ruhr. Referred too as the City of Blades.

The Hubertus who is the German Saint associated with hunters is the name of the Knife Maker.

Solingen is the City of Manufacture.

Handarbeit -- Handwork. handcraft.

Rostfrei--Rust Free, Stainless

My new go to knife since I lost my Svord. It’s a Knifekut. Seems to go alright. It’s a bit lighter than the Svord though. It’s knocked out a dog tucker ewe and these possums...

I have one of the early svords with wooden handle. Great knife. My other go to , which I always have in my pocket is a mercator. Good for everything :D
