You have the life Scribe.
I haven't got out fishing much this summer yet.
Been very busy and the weather has been very bad when not busy.

Yes well I am retired 'Cam' So the time is all mine. Living only a few yards from the sea allows me to sneak out many times when otherwise I probably would not because of doubtful conditions or just having to hook the boat on and launch it can take the shine off it.

I havnt been fishing as much as I would have liked this summer either because of the damned weather. Flounder galore out in front and have been for a month so I shouldn't moan if the commercial fishermen beat me to them.

Yes I know you can 'Rushy' but we are to bloody well fed here. There are a lot of real scollops up the coast. We get our share of them with a bit of trading.

I reckon that if you ever chose to drop right off the grid, you could probably survive quite well off of barter Scribe.

Might have to do a lot more bartering after buying the place up the coast. Not enough topsoil over the rock to get any sort of garden established. I can see it will be a race, will we run out of money or die first.

I will be forever grateful for the War Pension I receive though.

You could always build a raised garden or two Scribe. A few posts and some H4 150 x 50 would see you right.

Not much room for a garden either 'Rushy'. Thinking of using half mussel bouys that can be moved around. Next problem 'top soil' my sister in law tells me it is a rare and expensive commodity in and around Coromandel town. I might have to go moonlighting for cowshits out on the local farms. I will have to carry the shit on my back through the house up onto the grass terrace.

2nd problem, we have to catch and store all our own water in cisterns under the house may not be too much left for garden unless I have a system for catching shower water.

A Shower with a bucket not a friend, type system.
