Tonka Truck ?

Postby Happy » Mon Aug 17, 2015 7:42 pm

So I bought three weeks ago this as totally sick of house renovations and needed a break and change of topic for a bit

2 owners 142 ks is 1987 . Receipts going right back to its 1000 km service lol!

Started to chop and change it pretty quickly.

New springs wheels tyres shocks etc

Rear bar with tags for full side bar and rock sliders to come

Rear and front bar work in progress

Snorkel . Heaps to go. It's actually fun to work on something so basic for a change

Folks tell me these are pretty good fun off road.

When did this model first come out 'Happy' It looks a lot like the wagons that the pet meater's and roo shooters used up in the Northern Territory. They used to flog the arse off them

I think 1981 till 1988 ? All sorts in Aussie but all called different names like Sierra , Samari Maruti and a few others. Not much you can't buy for them off EBay Australia

So it's a 413? You might want to keep your eyes open for a set of axles from the 89-92 model they are slightly wider and a smidgen less likely to fall over ;)
Scribe this model came out about 1984, but the previous model basically looked the same and they came out about 1980/81.
