This is effectively the end of Democracy in NZ. Being told what we can have and turned into law breakers if we don't submit and go quietly is about to be witnessed by many. Latest developments show the method POSSIBLY to be used to tale your un allowed firearms away.

A post from Kiwigunblog:
This from a reader who has got a job working with the police buyback team. He is a picker and explained how it will work. Police will hire community halls and sports clubs as venues around the country, and secure them with army and police personnel, armed. On a given day you will take your firearms to the hall and give them to the pickers. They will dismantle your firearms on the spot, as far as possible and give you a receipt. The parts will be thrown into a container which will be guarded by the army.
You then take your receipt to another table and give it to the valuers. They will tell you how much your rifle is worth, although you no longer have it at this point, as it has been dismantled and put in the container. If you agree with the value you will be paid the agreed amount. If you disagree, you can appeal to a panel, who will come to a binding decision. This decision cannot be challenged. Not sure when or where the panel convenes, but it will be at a later date.
Training for the pickers and valuers roles started today in Wellington. They are on a 6 month contract, and expect it to be all over by then. They are budgeting 56M for this part of the operation. I think that's 2,000 tempory staff, at 56,000 a year being 28,000 over 6 months. You get one shot at surrendering everything, so you can't take some stuff in to see how it goes, and then come back with the rest.
No indication yet on the likely prices they will pay.
TAKE THIS AS A FAIRYTALE UNTIL ITS ALL CONFIRMED.

Sounds like if this' true then getting an independent evaluation and photographs is going to be necessary.
The problem is in the sentence (On a given day you will take your firearms to the hall and give them to the pickers. They will dismantle your firearms on the spot, as far as possible and give you a receipt. The parts will be thrown into a container which will be guarded by the army.)
Followed by this ( You then take your receipt to another table and give it to the valuers. They will tell you how much your rifle is worth, although you no longer have it at this point, as it has been dismantled and put in the container. If you agree with the value you will be paid the agreed amount. If you disagree, you can appeal . ) This means when you read between the lines that they have already decided how much you ll be paid.
At that point they have you in a building full of armed police and army chaps. If you make too much noise about IT you are stuffed. They have your firearm and its already in the container under armed guard. Watch your tongue or you ll be declared not fit and proper We all know the values are all different. You saw these rifles for say $4500. for a goody down to sub 2 grand Where is the return of your hard earned money that you paid tax on plus GST on your purchase... WTF...
RIP Daonlathas
