This amazing photo is of a GPS collared Sika hind crossing the Ripia River at speed, as she does she tosses a large trout out of the water that can be seen in the air upside down behind her.


This photo was sent to me by Adrian Liversey and the photo was shot by his partner Leanne.
They were both at their hut in the area when the chopper started chasing the Hind. The game was to catch the Hind and renew the batteries in her collar but she still runs free to this day. This is a Cam Speedy project and the pilot is Phil Jensen.

Obviously pigs don't like wet trotters.

Cool pics scribe. Right place right time. That black pig looks in mighty fine condition. Shiny coat and no visible ribs poking out.

Yes 'SK' you hit the nail on the head with your right place, right time. Old Bob who is 80 now and some one I have known for forty odd years was telling me about the deer and the lucky shot of the trout in the air. Even getting the shots of the net in the air takes good timing or luck.

His son Adrian sent me the photos today.

All three are good pigs I think.

The trout must have been left wondering when one minute it was just lying their in the rapids waiting for a feed to turn up and it got smashed by a hoof and flung out the back. The chances of that happening you would have to say was pretty remote and then to catch it all with the camera, well what would you think when the photo came out.
