This part of the Coromandel is a great cruising ground with the 16 islands out in front here there is always a snug, anchorage out of the wind. Not as extensive as Queen Charlotte and Pelorus Sound for sure.
The fishing is still great, Saturday we launched at Waikawau and filled up in an hour. Spent another hour eating our lunch and drinking coffee while we tried to catch a John Dory. No luck here, I must have lost my touch as I used to be able to catch them regularly.
